A little about me….
Hi I’m Abi, a qualified and BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) registered counsellor that works with Children, Young people and Adults.
I am a down to earth, warm and accepting person and like to think this comes across in my counselling sessions.
I am extremely passionate about the work I do and have always been drawn to helping and listening to others. I have always felt most fulfilled when I am in jobs (both counselling and non-counselling) which involve helping people. The happiness I get from seeing a client make connections in sessions and having that “ah ha” moment is indescribable.
I have a special interest in working with people who have experienced/ are experiencing trauma. Now you may be thinking “well thats just not me”, but hear me out, trauma means going through a very stressful, distressing or frightening event. As unique individuals, we all respond differently to trauma, it could effect us straight away or it could be delayed presenting years after the initial incident. Trauma can manifest in different ways (see image below).
