Frequently Asked Questions

  • As someone who has had counselling before, I believe it can definitely help make sense of the issues you are facing in your life. We don’t always have the space, time or opportunity to really explore and talk through what’s going on. Counselling can assist you in achieving greater self awareness and confidence, helping you to understand and process why you feel and behave the way you do. It’s a space where you can speak freely without judgement or discrimination.

  • I charge £50 per 50 minute session.

I also offer a few discounted places for those on low income- please ask me to enquire further :)

    I offer a free 15 minute consultation *

Payments are made by bank transfer.

  • Yes your sessions are confidential. Exceptions to this would be if I felt that you were endangering your own, or someone else’s life (there was a serious risk of harm). Confidentiality will be further outlined in our collaborative contract we go through together.

  • I’m going to be honest here- you may not feel better straight away. There may well be some tears, anger and frustration on your journey, but there will also be happiness and laughter where you will be in the company of someone who truly hears you. Through building a relationship, trust grows which can then enable you to be a little more vulnerable. This can feel daunting and a little scary at times (coming from my experience of being the client) especially if you are someone that is used to carrying your own emotions.

  • Sessions are normally scheduled for the same time every week. Commiting to these sessions is an investment in looking after yourself. I do also offer fortnightly sessions which can be particularly helpful if you are winding down on therapy/ coming to an end. I also offer top up/ ad hoc sessions so please feel free to ask me about these.

  • Yes, I do offer a few evening sessions. As these are very popular, they tend to be booked up quite quickly. Please feel free to send me an email if you wish to enquire further.

  • The sessions are 50 minutes long (A counselling clinical hour).

  • Funnily enough, I get asked this question a lot. Normally as a result of someone swearing and then looking horrified apologising profusely. So the answer is, yes of course you can! I have no problem with swearing and it can actually be a really effective way to express yourself :)

  • If you can think of a question which isn’t listed here, please feel free to drop me an email by clicking on the envelope at the top of the page.
